Dollar Tree, a beloved discount retailer known for its $1 items, is making a strategic move. They recently acquired the intellectual property and leases of nearly 200 former 99 Cents Only Stores.

The End of an Era for 99 Cents Only 99 Cents Only Stores filed for bankruptcy in April 2024. Citing economic challenges, they closed all 371 locations. This marked the end of a 42-year run for the popular discount chain

Sadly, 99 Cents Only Stores couldn't overcome economic hurdles and had to close their doors.  

Dollar Tree saw an opportunity in the closure of 99 Cents Only Stores. They acquired the leases and intellectual property of 170 locations. This expansion will strengthen Dollar Tree's presence in key markets.
